Before you start, have
- A written tuition quote or enrolment option from each provider
- Your PMI membership status
- Each provider's stated inclusions and access terms
- A place to record the same comparison fields for every provider
Heads up: Do not compare a tuition figure with another provider's combined course-and-exam total.
Heads up: Do not assume that an exam fee, membership, tax, retake or renewal cost is included unless the written quote says so.
Heads up: Do not describe a training certificate as PMI approval unless that status is separately substantiated.

In brief
A PgMP course fee should be compared as provider tuition first, then against the separate PMI exam fee: US$800 for members or US$1,000 at full price in 2026. Compare only quotes that show the same application support, access and Professional Development Unit certificate details.
- 1
List each provider's tuition separately
Create one row for each provider and enter only the course tuition shown in its written quote. Leave PMI charges on a separate line so a combined total cannot be mistaken for tuition.
- 2
Add the PMI exam fee as its own line
Use your membership status to select the current official PMI PgMP exam fee. PMI requires the payment after an accepted application, when you are ready to schedule the examination.
- 3
Check for application feedback
Ask whether the provider gives feedback on your application evidence and record exactly what it covers. This matters because PMI panel review must be passed before the examination can be scheduled.
- 4
Compare access and support terms
For every row, record live teaching hours, recording or material-access period, practice-question access and support duration. Mark an item as unknown if the quote does not state it.
- 5
Confirm the PDU certificate details
Record the Professional Development Unit count and the certificate details stated by the provider. PMI uses PDUs for ongoing certification maintenance, so the certificate should be compared as an inclusion rather than assumed from a course title.
- 6
Choose the like-for-like quote
Review the completed rows and compare tuition only among providers with the access and support you need. Your sheet is complete when every row separates tuition, PMI costs, application feedback, access, support and PDU certificate information.
You'll know it worked when
You have one completed row per provider, with tuition separated from the PMI exam payment and every inclusion field marked as included, excluded or unknown.
Keep the comparison on one sheet
A low tuition figure is not useful if another quote includes more access or application feedback. Put every provider into the same five fields before deciding which fee represents better value.
The five fields that make a course quote comparable
Keep the Project Management Institute payment separate
Record the provider's tuition as one line and the Project Management Institute exam payment as another. PMI says candidates pay the exam fee after an application is accepted and they are ready to schedule the exam. PMI's PgMP certification page also confirms that the application is followed by panel review before the examination can be scheduled.
Place Augment alongside the same checklist
For example, Augment's PgMP course information publishes live Q&A, recordings, application-writing guidance, more than 1,000 exam-prep questions, 12 weeks of mentorship support, six months of course-material access and a 24-PDU training certificate. Treat those as fields to compare, not as a substitute for separating tuition from PMI costs.

Frequently asked
Do not assume that a provider's tuition includes the PMI examination payment. Ask for a written breakdown that labels tuition and every separate charge, then compare it with PMI's current PgMP payment information before treating a quote as your total budget.
PgMP candidates must pass PMI's panel review before they can schedule the examination. Application feedback is therefore a distinct service to record beside tuition, live teaching, practice access and support duration, rather than treating every course quote as equivalent.
A PDU certificate is worth recording because PgMP holders have continuing-certification requirements after earning the credential. Compare the stated PDU count, the provider issuing the certificate and the documentation you will retain for your own records.
