In brief
PMI panel reviewers assess PgMP candidates’ own summary responses after application acceptance and fee payment, before the exam can be scheduled. Before an independent panel sees the draft
PMI’s June 2026 Certification Handbook says PgMP candidates may be selected for audit and must pass the panel process as well as the examination. Application review helps you organise and clarify your evidence before that independent assessment. It does not replace your judgment, create experience, or transfer responsibility for the facts you submit.
The PgMP application path has two decision owners
Choose support for the gap you actually have
Application review is for candidates whose main obstacle is explaining genuine program work clearly. If you are unsure whether your role qualifies, start with PgMP eligibility without a program manager title. If you need a complete route that also covers learning and exam practice, see PgMP training with application support. For the wider sequence after you submit, read the PgMP certification process.
What this support is not for
This is not the right route when your primary need is mock-exam practice, scenario-based study, or a substitute for work experience. A review can challenge unclear summaries and help you prepare evidence, but PMI decides eligibility, audit outcomes and panel results independently.

Frequently asked
No. The relevant question is whether your documented experience meets PMI’s education and program-management requirements, not whether your job title used the words “program manager.” An eligibility review should begin with your actual responsibilities, objectives and component work.
Application review helps you inventory genuine experience, select examples that need clearer evidence, and strengthen your own written summaries. The purpose is to make your role, responsibilities and program context easier for an independent reviewer to understand.
No. You remain responsible for the facts, wording you approve, audit documentation and final submission. Support should provide candid feedback without writing false claims or replacing the applicant’s judgment and accountability.
PMI may ask for supporting documentation, including education records and supervisor or manager signatures for recorded experience. The application process requires evidence you can support, so retain your records and make claims that your documentation can substantiate.
