In brief

A PgMP route should reflect your local schedule, application stage and preferred mentor contact, not just a course label. This six-question assessment uses three score bands to make those criteria visible, as of September 2026.

A score is a routing signal, not an eligibility decision

PMI has three PgMP eligibility sets, each combining education with defined project and program management experience. The assessment uses application status to identify the kind of support you may want, but it cannot determine whether you qualify. PMI’s 2026 PgMP certification page explains the eligibility sets and required application documentation.

Read the points before you start

Each answer is worth 0, 1 or 2 points. Higher points consistently mean more pressure for schedule flexibility and direct mentor contact. Your total falls into one of three bands: 0-4 independent-study band, 5-8 cohort-support band, or 9-12 tailored-support band.

Your application stage matters because PMI requires candidates to document project and program experience, then complete panel review before scheduling the exam. Read what PgMP panel review means if you need the process behind that question.

The support formats the score compares

Augment publishes a self-paced PgMP mentorship route with video modules, application-writing guidance, more than 1,000 exam-prep questions, live Q&A and six-month access. Its live Fast Track route is presented as a 12-week programme with a 5+ hour weekly commitment, live sessions, recordings and a one-to-one gap assessment. Personal mentoring is presented as one-to-one coaching tailored to individual schedules and learning needs.

A fixed cohort is not well suited to a calendar that changes frequently or to someone who wants regular individual contact. Independent study is not well suited to someone who needs live discussion to maintain momentum. The result gives a route to investigate, not a promise of eligibility, panel approval or an exam result.

  6. 06If work or travel disrupts a study week, what happens most often?

    • I need a route built around changing commitments
    • I can catch up without changing my plan
    • I need occasional flexibility

How to read your score

ScoreResultWhat it means
040-4: Independent-study bandYour answers indicate low pressure for fixed-time instruction or individual contact. A self-paced route is the route to examine first. Augment’s self-paced PgMP programme lists video modules, application-writing guidance, more than 1,000 questions, live Q&A and six-month access.
585-8: Cohort-support bandYour answers indicate that recurring live structure could help, provided the session times work in your local schedule. Compare the published commitment with your calendar before enrolling. Augment presents its Fast Track route as a 12-week programme with 5+ hours weekly, recordings and a one-to-one gap assessment.
9129-12: Tailored-support bandYour answers indicate that fixed cohort timing or group-only contact could leave important gaps. Investigate a schedule-tailored, one-to-one mentoring route and clarify application support before committing. Your application experience summaries remain your own responsibility under PMI’s process.

Frequently asked

No. The quiz uses your application stage to assess the support route, not your eligibility. PMI eligibility depends on the education and project and program management experience set that applies to your record.

Yes. PMI states that, after an accepted application and payment, volunteer PgMP-certified program managers assess the candidate’s professional experience. The exam can be scheduled only after panel review is passed.

A higher score means your answers indicate more pressure for flexibility, direct mentor contact or help navigating the application stage. It does not measure your program-management capability or predict a PgMP outcome.

Yes. The lowest score band exists for people whose schedule and preferred support style point toward independent learning. The assessment still accounts for application status, because exam preparation is only one part of the PgMP path.

Live cohort participation only works when recurring session times fit your local working and personal commitments. Time zone is assessed alongside weekend availability and schedule predictability, rather than treated as a location label.
